special edition Mom water

For this package design project I chose to create a special edition box, can, and candle for one of my favorite companies, Mom Water. One of my main objectives was for the box to have a sense of the mother’s day nostalgia that I remember from when I was growing up. One of the most important things a mom can receive for mothers day is a hand drawn card from her child. As an art lover, I made plenty of these masterpieces for my mom. I decided to go back to crayons to see if I could capture a sentimental mother’s day feel on a modern alcoholic beverage box.

Also, instead of traditional flavor names Mom Water uses mom names such as “Karen” or “Linda” for each flavor combination. At first I thought about using my own mom’s name, but then I realized that there is one name that is universal for moms everywhere…”Mom”. So, this raspberry lemonade flavor is called “Mom” in honor of all of the moms who would love to enjoy a case of Mom Water made specially with them in mind.

Overall, I had so much fun experimenting with hand drawn elements, composition, and incorporating normative information into this project to make it as real as possible. I enjoyed being able to put my hand back into my work to create something authentic. This special edition Mother’s Day Mom Water was a hit with my mom and my friend’s Moms, so maybe one day it could be a hit for moms nation wide!
